Handicrafts

A nice conclusion to a wonderful travel is to take back home some local craft or produce. Many local craftsmen can be found in the small towns and villages, producing simple and traditional craftworks in clay, iron (especially the Taramundi iron workshops), wood, leather and copper. Asturias also produces an assortment of kitchen tools and farm equipment, as well as the famous knives with boxwood handles. There are also clog and basket makers, ancient textiles (at Los Oscos ) and jet trinket makers in eastern and central Asturias.
